DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century exceptionally rare Imperial Russian Solid Silver set of 12 tea spoons, each beautifully cloisonne and plique-a-jour enamelled with brightly colored foliate and floral ornaments, the handles are cloisonne enamelled depicting sylized flowers and leaves, engraved with initials "K" and "S". Russian plique-a-jour enamel is particularly rare, this set is in excellent condition, complete and it comes in the fitted retailer's case with very decorative lion-shaped clasps.
Each piece is Hallmarked Russian Silver (84, 875 standard), Moscow, year 1882-1899, Maker's mark AK for Antip Kuzmichev, very important silversmith, a contemporary and competitor of the Faberge' firm, often producing for or retailed by Tiffany and Co. New York.
