DESCRIPTION
Antique late-19th Century Japanese Meiji period very fine gold lacquer vase of traditional form, decorated with two shibayama inlaid panels, one side with decorated with scenes of a Japanese night garden with mount Fuji in the background, inlaid with a bird and butterfly, the other side depicting a lady resting on a bench and overlooking a young boy playing in the garden, all reserved on a kinji ground with formal designs, rinzu motifs and the neck applied with Imperial chrysanthemums symbols, underneath signed on a mother of pearl plaque.
