This extraordinarily made pair of ewers features an excellent workmanship and a very unusual style, mixing elements from the Cutch and Swami (popular in Madras and Bangalore) visual culture. As often the case the piece is unmarked (acid tested show a 900+ silver standard), but is clearly the product of a prominent Indian Colonial silversmith. It probably dates to the 1910's.
