19th Century Indian Kutch (Cutch), Bhuj, (Gujarat region) hand-crafted solid silver tray, of shaped rectangular form, finely chased throughout with scrolling leaves and floral patterns on a finely tooled matted ground, the tray resting on four ball feet. The center with a vacant cartouche flanked by a peacocks and other exotic birds resting on branches. This tray is particularly fine quality.

The center with a vacant cartouche flanked by a peacocks and other exotic birds resting on branches. This tray is particularly fine quality. Hallmarked O.M BHUJ, Oomersi Mawji, the most renowned Indian Colonial silversmith, court Silversmith to the ruler of Kutch, Maharao Shri Mirza Raja Sawai Khengarji Bahadurno, the longest ruling Maharajadhiraj of the Princely State of Kutch, from 1875 to 1942. The Oomersi Mawji pieces are now very sought after by collectors, especially ones of extremely high quality and unusual design, such as this tray.
