Antique early-20th Century exceptionally rare set of five German Solid Silver novelty cups modelled as a band of musicians seated on chairs, each with a cast round body and sprung head, plumed hat and ruffled collar, removable tops.
The set is Hallmarked German silver, pseudo-marks for Neresheimer & Sohne, each part is also fully Hallmarked English import silver (925 standard), London, year 1900 (e), Importer's mark BM for Berthold Muller. Such novelty pieces are very rare and sought after, a similar set of musicians by Neresheimer & Sohne recently sold in Christie's for £10,000.
