19th Century German solid silver & enameled glass pair of large and decorative wine claret jugs, each baluster form glass body beautifully enameled with multi-colour foliate scroll decoration, mounted with a silver collar chased with scrolls and cross-hatch woven decoration, vacant cartooches, scroll handle terminating with a shell thumbpiece.

DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century German solid silver & enameled glass pair of large and decorative wine claret jugs, each baluster form glass body beautifully enameled with multi-colour foliate scroll decoration, mounted with a silver collar chased with scrolls and cross-hatch woven decoration, vacant cartooches, scroll handle terminating with a shell thumbpiece.
Each hinged lid has a nice cast shaped finial. Hallmarked German "800" silver, but each silver mount has been acid tested and shows a 800 silver purity. The pair dates to the 1890's, Maker Heisler (C.Heisler, Mannheim, active end of the 19th century, Royal court silversmith, specialising in Rococo sets and early revival pieces.)
