19th Century German Renaissance style 14k solid gold cutlery set, comprising: six spoons, six forks and six knives. The finely modelled, cast figural handles in form of a loosely draped woman, one arm seductively covering her breast, the other side depicting a semi-nude male, both standing on a pedestal base. The knifes engraved in reserves with scroll decoration on matted ground and each spoon engraved with a large and impressive coat of arms.

DESCRIPTION
Antique mid-19th Century German extremely rare Renaissance style 14k solid gold cutlery set, comprising: six spoons, six forks and six knives. The finely modelled, cast figural handles in form of a loosely draped woman, one arm seductively covering her breast, the other side depicting a semi-nude male, both standing on a pedestal base. The knifes engraved in reserves with scroll decoration on matted ground and each spoon engraved with a large and impressive coat of arms. Hallmarked with German pseudo marks (13), a large crown and (C), one of the spoons has been analysed in parts by X-Ray fluorescence spectroscopy and has found it to have high gold content; cast figural handle 275 / 1000, spoon bowl 411 / 1000 and stem from handle to spoon 77 /1000, which approximately makes the piece 12k-15k (500-600 / 1000 gold purity) and the rest silver, copper and mercury. The set comes in a later fitted three level presentation box with keys and the original certificate from the London assay office.
