17th Century German silver cup & cover, partly gilt, gourd-shaped with repoussé scroll work and fruit, shaft in the form of a three-dimensional tree trunk with lumberjack, socket lid with floral finial.
Hallmarked with the Maker’s mark VH = Hans II Weienmayr (Seling 1043), assayer’s puncture (‘Tremolierstich’), Augsburg hallmark 1610-1612, (Lu) and later Austrian control marks.

Antique early-17th Century rare German solid silver cup & cover, partly gilt, gourd-shaped with repoussé scroll work and fruit, shaft in the form of a three-dimensional tree trunk with lumberjack, socket lid with floral finial.
Hallmarked with the Maker’s mark VH = Hans II Weienmayr (Seling 1043), assayer’s puncture (‘Tremolierstich’), Augsburg hallmark 1610-1612, (Lu) and later Austrian control marks. Early Augsburg goblets by Hans II Weienmayr are preserved in the Hamburg Museum of Arts and Crafts and in the Moscow Kremlin Museums.
