19th Century French silver set of four figural salt-cellars, exceptionally rare, each on a shaped oval base on cast scroll paw feet, the double bowls modelled as shells and supported on the tail of a dolphin which forms the stem, the interior richly gilt.

Antique 19th Century French solid silver set of four figural salt-cellars, exceptionally rare, each on a shaped oval base on cast scroll paw feet, the double bowls modelled as shells and supported on the tail of a dolphin which forms the stem, the interior richly gilt.
Each Hallmarked French silver (950 standard), Paris, year 1819-1938, Marks for Maison Odiot - Charles Nicolas Odiot (active 1827-1869), each base stamped "ODIOT". Charles Nicolas Odiot inherited the direction of Odiot in 1827 and was purveyor of silverware by appointment to His Majesty the King Louis-Philippe and to the Royal Family of Orleans, excelling in the revived rocaille style.
