Antique 19th Century French exceptional solid silver tea service, comprising: Kettle on stand, teapot, coffee pot, lidded sugar bowl and cream jug; all circular shaped with panels chased with latticework and foliate scrolls on a matted ground, the pots with cast foliate bouquet finials, dolphin mask spouts, handles with insulators, all raised on four rocialle scroll feet. All engraved with a crowned family crest.

Hallmarked French silver (950 standard, used 1838-present), Paris, Marks for Charles-Nicholas Odiot (active 1827-1894), each base stamped "ODIOT PARIS". Charles Nicolas Odiot inherited the direction of Odiot in 1827 and was purveyor of silverware by appointment to His Majesty the King Louis-Philippe and to the Royal Family of Orleans, excelling in the revived rocaille style.
