Antique 19th Century rare and exceptionally decorative French solid silver tete-a-tete coffee set, comprising of coffee pot and two cups and saucers. The set is extremely unusual in design and finely crafted, parcel gilt, it features a stunning Aestheticist (Aesthetic Movement) design, engraved with highly-decorative flowers and birds in the Oriental style.
Each piece is Hallmarked French silver (950 high-standard), Paris, year 1870-90, Maker's mark on the cup's rings (very small and difficult to read), each base is stamped "E. MAYER", possibly the retailer's mark. The quality and the design are outstanding, this is surely the product of a preeminent French designer and silversmith.

In Great Condition - no damage, just general wear.
