Antique 19th Century rare pair of French Solid Silver candlesticks, exceptionally large and heavy, each shaped-circular base spirally fluted and embellished with shells and beads, the columns cast depicting male and female busts in profile, the capitals are engraved with initials, unmarked detachable nozzles.
The pair is very large, heavy (over 3 kilos of solid silver) and magnificent, made in the style of the 18th century Rococo candlesticks.
The bases are Hallmarked French silver (950 standard, high grade silver), Paris, year about 1890's, Maker's mark for Emile Puiforcat (very important silversmith), each base is further stamped with the retailer' mark for TIFFANY & CO (important American luxury retailers)
