The baluster body chased and applied with leaves and a grapevine band with masks, figural spout terminating with a ram's head, the hinged lid is surmounted by a cast swan finial. Hallmarked French Silver (950), Paris, marks in use between year 1819 and 1838. Maker's mark rubbed, the base is engraved with the original memorial inscription "Souvenir d'amitie' Le Caron Devaus a' sa cousin C. Castaigne, Fuillet, 1835"

Antique 19th Century stunning French Empire style Solid Silver Coffee pot, impressively large and richly gilt. The baluster body chased and applied with leaves and a grapevine band with masks, figural spout terminating with a ram's head, the hinged lid is surmounted by a cast swan finial. Exceptional quality and size, one side bears initials, each part is Hallmarked French Silver (950 Standard), Paris, marks in use between year 1819 and 1838. Maker's mark rubbed, the base is engraved with the original memorial inscription "Souvenir d'amitie' Le Caron Devaus a' sa cousin C. Castaigne, Fuillet, 1835"
CONDITION
In Great Condition - no damage to the silver, just a small restoration to the base of the wooden handle.
