Antique early-20th Century Burmese, Myanmar Solid Silver Thabeik bowl, repousse' decorated in high relief depicting different traditional scenes from the Burmese mythology, showing detailed figures set against a chiseled matted background in continuous landscape. The top chased with scrolling bands and base decorated with a thick band of betel leaves. The quality of the bowl is outstanding and very crisp.
Base engraved with the stylized signature of a tiger, one of the best known 20th century Burmese silversmiths, who's highly decorative designs are very distinctive and sought after. (see Wilkinson's page 41)
