DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century Exceptional Burmese, Myanmar Solid Silver Thabeik bowl, repousse' decorated in high relief depicting different traditional scenes from the Burmese mythology, showing detailed figures set against a chiseled matted background in eight different arched panels.
The top chased with scrolling bands and base decorated with a thick band of overlapping betel leaves. The quality of the bowl is outstanding, heavy gauge and very crisp. The base engraved with a makers 'bird of pray' mark (see Wilkinson's page 41).
