Antique 19th Century Victorian silver mounted ram’s head snuff mull, the head is fitted with a silver compartment for snuff, chased with thistles and centred by a facetted oval crystal, nose applied with the winners badge of the Christmas Show 1874, the horns set with silver thistle terminals and with three silver and bone implements suspended from chains, on a silver caster.

Antique 19th Century Victorian silver mounted ram’s head snuff mull, the head is fitted with a silver compartment for snuff, chased with thistles and centred by a facetted oval crystal, nose applied with the winners badge of the Christmas Show 1874, the horns set with silver thistle terminals and with three silver and bone implements suspended from chains, on a silver caster. Whilst snuff boxes are relatively common, table snuff mulls like these are very rare and this is one of the best examples ever seen, without doubt a prized possession for a very wealthy family.
