ANTIQUE 19thC VICTORIAN SOLID SILVER CROCODILE LEATHER CIGAR CASE, ASPREY c.1878
Antique 19th Century Victorian solid silver mounted on sumptuous crocodile leather cigar case. It is of rounded rectangular form, with a pull off lid and interior that is sufficient for four mid-size cigars. Mounted on the front is a decorative silver detailing and the edge of the case features a metal band that is contoured in the shape of the leather. A wonderful item which is a real conversation piece, full of history reminiscent of the gone by era. Neatly presented in its original velvet lined presentation box with the inscription "By Appointment Presented to the H.R.H. The Prince of Wales."
Hallmarked English Solid Silver (925 Standard), London, year 1878 (C), Maker's mark CA CA (Charles Asprey & Charles Asprey Jr). Their hallmark was registered in February 1876.
