Description
Antique 19th Century early Victorian Solid Silver pair of large serving plates, shaped circular form with gadrooned borders embellished by leaves and shells in relief, one is slightly deeper. The two pieces are fully Hallmarked English silver (925 Standard), London, year 1842 (G), Maker's mark crowned RG (Robert Garrard II), important Royal silversmith (Queen Victoria appointed Robert Garrard to the position of Crown Jeweller in 1843, leading to the production of numerous pieces of silverware for the Royal Family. The two large plates are engraved with the same crest that also appears on the set of twelve plates by Garrard now selling on my shop.
Condition
In Great Condition - no damage, just general wear.
