Antique 20th Century rare advertising mirror. This 1930’s oak framed advertising mirror shows a bottle of John Dewar & Sons Old Liqueur Whisky as supplied to the Imperial Institute. Dewars was founded by John Dewar in Perth in 1846. John was later joined by his sons Tommy and John Alexander, when they began to used the Celtic knot as their logo creating it from three D’s representing each of them. Begining as a spirit merchant, the boys (just children) began helping their father by serving behind the counter in Perth high street. Their knack for blending had earned the company over a thousand awards of excellence. Tommy Dewar was known to have coined the phrase
“All you get in a hurry is Trouble!”
