DESCRIPTION

A wonderful petite Louis Vuitton trunk, particularly rare due to its height, 40cm, which always works so well as a coffee table or side table.

The majority of trunks made by Vuitton were under 33cm high (cabin model) or over 50cm high (courier model). It is rare to find one of this height. Showing beautiful vibrant colours on the canvas, this model was the “top of the range” with its hardwearing lozine and brass fittings and the unusual leather corners, only seen on models of this size. The serial number (727059) and label dates this trunk to the first half of the 20th century. Lock number: 044388.
 

CONDITION

Overall in fantastic original condition, however shows a stress crack on the lid of the trunk due to shrinkage of the wood.
