DESCRIPTION

Way back in 1927, American author Ernest Hemingway became the lucky owner of his own custom trunk designed by Gaston-Louis Vuitton. Hemingway’s library trunk was a mish mash of shelves and secret drawers, one can imagine that it was home to his own collection of books.

The trunk was out of scene for a long time till it was rediscovered in the basement of The Ritz in Paris, along with the long-lost manuscript of A Moveable Feast, Hemingway’s posthumous masterpiece.

Although this trunk wasn’t the one discovered in the basement of The Ritz it remains one of the rarest of Louis Vuitton trunks with only a small run ever produced. This one is in exceptionally good condition, all with original canvas, lozine trim, brass hardware and totally complete with drawers and and Underwood typewriter. A rare chance to own one of the most collectible period Louis Vuitton trunks in circulation.
