19th Century French Aesthetic Movement silver bachelor tea & coffee set, comprising of coffee pot, teapot, sugar bowl, cream jug, tray and cup with saucer. The set is extremely unusual in design and finely crafted, engraved with highly-decorative flowers and birds in the oriental inspired style.
Hallmarked French silver (950), Paris, year 1870-90, Maker's mark A.A in a lozenge (unknown to me), each base is stamped "E. MAYER" retailer's mark.

Each piece is Hallmarked French silver (950 standard), Paris, year 1870-90, Maker's mark A.A in a lozenge (unknown to me), each base is stamped "E. MAYER" retailer's mark. The quality and the design are outstanding, this is surely the product of a preeminent French designer and silversmith.
