Description

Antique 20th Century rare Imperial Russian Solid Silver & shaded cloisonne' enamel small Kovsh, of traditional form, with raised prow and unusual handle, beautifully decorated with shaded polychrome cloisonne' enamel with stylised scrolling foliage. The piece is Hallmarked Russian silver 84 (875 standard), Moscow, year 1908-1917, Maker's mark for 11th Artel, one of the most important and rare Russian manufacturers (the style is distinguished by Art nouveau influence with triangular and rectangular enamel cells, volutes, spirals, silver beads, green, ochre, violet-and-cream tints in a hazy "water-colour" style).

Condition

In Great Condition - Just general wear, one enamel bead is chipped.
