Antique early-20th Century Imperial Russian Pan Slavic style solid silver and gem set kovsh, applied with emeralds and garnet cabochons and the matted body mounted with an elaborately designed Pan-Slavic handle and a wide shaped stand, richly gilt interior. Hallmarked Russian silver 84 (875 standard), Moscow, Maker's mark 5A for (5th Artel). Artels were cooperative associations of craftsmen that existed in Imperial Russia and Soviet Union. These associations consisted of a small number of members specialised in a specific art and producing a limited number of unique high quality objects.
