DESCRIPTION
Antique early-20th Century Imperial Russian Faberge silver-gilt and green guilloche enamel pencil holder, of flattened rectangular form, enameled in vibrant translucent green over a wavy guilloché ground. Both parts hallmarked Russian 88 silver (915 standard), St-Petersburg, year 1908-1917, Maker's mark H.W. (Renowned Faberge work-master, Henrik Wigstrom, active 1862–1923, was one of the most important Fabergé workmasters along with Michael Perkhin. Perlhin was the head workmaster from 1886 until his death in 1903, when he was succeeded by his chief assistant Henrik Wigström. These two workmasters were responsible for almost all the Imperial Easter eggs commissioned by the Czarina of Russia.
