Description

Antique 20th Century rare Imperial Russian Solid Silver & shaded cloisonne' enamel salt in the form of a kovsh, with raised prow and hook handle, beautifully decorated with shaded polychrome cloisonne' enamel with stylised scrolling foliage, the piece comes with its original enamelled spoon and is particularly large.

Both pieces are Hallmarked Russian silver 84 (875 standard), Moscow, year 1908-1917, Maker's mark for 11th Artel, one of the most important and rare Russian manufacturers, Faberge's suppliers, highly sought after (please follow this link to compare some recent results in Sotheby's).

The style is distinguished by Art Nouveau influence with original enamel cells, volutes, spirals, silver beads, green ochre, violet-and-cream tints in a hazy "water-colour" style.

Condition

In Great Condition - Just general wear, the enamel to one side of the prow is a bit damaged.
