DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century rare Imperial Russian Solid Silver set of 12 tea spoons & caddy spoon, each richly gilt, beautifully cloisonne and plique-a-jour enamelled with a scrolling foliage and floral decoration.
The handles are cloisonne enamelled and the bowls enamelled in plique-a-jour with brightly colored foliate and floral ornament. Russian plique-a-jour enamel is particularly rare, this set is in excellent condition, complete and it comes in the fitted retailer's case stamped "A. FONTAINE", Paris.
Each piece is Hallmarked Russian Silver (84, 875 standard), Moscow, year 1882-1899, Maker's mark in Cyrillic for Ivan Saltykov, one of the greatest Russian silversmiths, specializing in enamelled pieces. Each piece is further stamped French import silver.
CONDITION
In Excellent Condition - no damage.
