DESCRIPTION
Antique 20th Century very rare Imperial Russian Solid Silver and cloisonne enamel beaker, tapering cylindrical form on domed circular foot, the body is beautifully enamelled with shaded varicolor flowers and stylised scrolling foliage within a blue frame, the silver is richly gilt.
The beaker is impressive and in perfect condition, a rare and magnificent piece. The inside of the cup bears a hand-engraved memorial inscription in Cyrillic "Presented to Count A.P. Shuvalov on 25/12/1898", possibly for Pavel Andreyevich Shuvalov was an Imperial Russian statesman and a prominent figure at the courts of Nicholas I of Russia, for more information please follow this link).
The base is Hallmarked Russian silver 88 (for 916 standard), Moscow, year 1890s, Maker's mark HA (Nikolai Alexeyev, very important silversmith specializing in enamelled items). Please follow this link to a very similar beaker by the same maker sold for nearly £7000.

In Great Condition - no damage, just general wear.
