ANTIQUE 19thC IMPERIAL RUSSIAN KUZMICHEV SOLID SILVER & ENAMEL LARGE BOWL c.1886

DESCRIPTION

Antique 20th Century exceptionally rare Imperial Russian Solid Silver-gilt and cloisonne' enamel sugar bowl, particularly large size and fine quality, swing handle, richly gilt and beautifully enamelled with multicolored stylized design on stippled ground.

The base is Hallmarked Russian silver (88 for high-grade silver standard), Moscow, Assayer's mark for 1886, Moscow, Maker's mark for Antip Kuzmichev, very important silversmith, a contemporary competitor of the Faberge' firm, often producing for or retailed by Tiffany and Co. New York.
