Antique mid-18th Century Russian Monumental solid silver-gilt cup with cover, of fluted baluster form, the body and lid highly embossed with scrolls and foliage decorations, standing on domed foot and applied with a decorative figural stem, the lid set with a ball shaped finial, richly gilt throughout. Hallmarked Russian Silver 84 (875 standard), Moscow, year 1749, Maker's mark for (Yakov Maslyenikov), also retail mark of Anders Zaitsev, active in Moscow from 1735-1749, and a later 19th century French Import mark.
