A stunning table lamp by Tommaso Barbi, made in Italy towards the end of the 1970s, early 1980s. Tommaso Barbi was a prominent Italian artist and designer of the mid to late 20th century. Tommaso Barbi often used the finest glass makers of Murano for is homewares this lamp would have been hand crafted in Venice. It shows superb workmanship, the diagonal stripes on both the glass shade and the glass base, encased by brass mounts. The user is presented with the option of illuminating the top half or the bottom or both using a dual pedal switch. A wonderful way of bringing ambient lighting to any room with a touch of mid century retro chic.
