19th Century Japanese Meiji period shibayama & silver bowl on stand. The silver mount engraved with various floral decoration complimenting the shibayama work and applied with elephant heads, bowl standing on six scrolled legs, the sides are set with six large gold lacquered shibayama panels and inlaid with finely carved pieces of vari-colours of mother of pearl, depicting various scenes of birds perching on a branch of blossoming trees. The piece bowl dates to the mid Meiji period (1890-1912), acid tested shows a 950+ silver standard, the base is signed Hideyoshi Koku, engraved by H.
