Antique early 19th Century Austrian three colour gold mounted with diamonds and rock crystal toothpick case, styled in a shape of a torch. The hinged lid mounted with a slightly opaque etched rock crystal panels shaped as a flame, with acanthus leaf boarders and ribbon tied bows, arrows and flora. At the base is a heart-shaped embellishment further set with diamonds.

Opening the hinged rock crystal reveals three gold toothpicks, crafted to resemble Cupid's arrows, each toothpick is slightly unique and neatly fits into its own dedicated slot.

Hallmarked with early Austrian gold hallmarks, Vienna (A), Maker F.K (unknown to me). The item comes with a later fitted retail box, giving provenance, John Bailie & Co Ltd. Goldsmith, diamond merchants & watch manufacturers of Kensington W, London.
