Antique late-19th Century German pair of solid silver bowls, each exceptionally decorative and ornamental on four scroll feet, the sides embossed and chased in high relief with classical scenes, depicting putti and angels, carrying flowers, surrounded by scroll and pierced boarders, the cast handles modelled as grotesque heads, holding laurel wreaths.
Each base is Hallmarked with early French silver pseudo-marks used by the Hanau firm Hanauer Silberwaren-Manufaktur (1891-1906), the first firm of Georg Roth (1906-1919), the sides also hallmarked with late 19th century English import marks, London, year 1897 (Q), Maker ETB (Edwin Thompson Bryant)
