DESCRIPTION

Striking mid 20th Century Brutalist mirror made by the Syracuse Ornamental Company. Founded in Syracuse, New York in the 1890 by Adolf Holstein they specialised in decorative wood carvings for the domestic market. The innovative Holstein developed a material that looked and felt like wood but could be shaped and molded easily. This became known as Syroco Wood and the company became known as Syroco. By the 1960's Syroco was producing modern designs for the home using plastics and resins.


This Brutalist mirror manufactured by Syroco from 1968 has a molded resin and construction with gilt detail. A real conversation piece and a superb piece of history.

In Great Condition - wear consistent with age.
