A beautiful Empire dresser from the early 19th century, with three main drawers and a fourth drawer just below the tray in veneered walnut feathers. Note how the flame is drawn on the front and sides with a beautiful play of light and dark with the knots of the wood. It has two lateral columns with capitals and bases in gilded bronze and plenty of neoclassical detailing also in gilded bronze. At the top corners, two golden bronzes in the shape of a laurel wreath: a sign of strength and victory for the French empire. A truly wonderful chest of drawers, synonymous with high end furnishings, extremely elegant and striking.

Split to the side panel, old restoration to one of the columns in the form of a nail but not obvious. Overall fair antique condition.
