Antique 20th Century pair of French gilt metal mounted hand-painted enamel vases, each of baluster form, beautifully hand-painted with Rococo style 18th Century figures in a landscape, one depicting a gentleman and the other a lady.
Each circular foot and interior are painted with red enamel, a decorative band also decorates each body and is hand painted in relief with gilt floral garlands. Great workmanship and condition overall. The painted bodies are signed "T. Grand", the mounts are not hallmarked as often the case, it's gilt metal or possibly silver (not tested).
By style the pair is typically from the French city of Limoges, renowned for its enamelled pieces. It probably dates to year 1900-10.
