DESCRIPTION
A rare and superb Montblanc Limited Edition 4810 "Patron of Art" Fountain Pen, celebrating Louis XIV, the longest-reigning king in European history. He greatly benefited the humanities during his rule by patronizing Moliere, Racine, La Fontaine and many others.
With its delicate splendour and extravagant detail, the Louis XIV pen recalls the interior decoration of the rooms and salons of Versailles, the court of the Sun King. The fine barrel made of vermeil (gold-plated 925 standard sterling silver) is encircled with a delicate flower pattern.
The 18 Karat Gold nib features a heart-shaped hole and is hand-engraved with delicate bows, a typical accessory in the court of the Sun King.
The pen is in perfect condition, never used, it comes with the original outer box, laquered wood display box and booklet. The model dates to 1994.
It is a Limited Edition number 2325 / 4810.
