Antique late-19th Century Burmese colonial solid silver three piece tea set, comprising of teapot, lidded sugar bowl, and cream jug, each piece is highly-decorative, chased and repoussed with a continuous scene from Burmese mythology, applied with a elephant head handles, elephant head spout and each domed cover is surmounted with a kneeling figures. The quality of the tea set is simply outstanding, heavy gauge and very crisp. The side engraved with a large makers peacock mark, there are number of different variations of the peacock signature, all of whom are are indirectly claiming past royal patronage by using this mark (see Wilkinson's page 41), the set has been tested 900+ standard silver.
