DESCRIPTION
A quirky and beautiful artist’s lay figure or mannequin made in England around the 1970s. This unusual lay figure is put together with sections of plywood made into different shapes and spaced evenly apart to make the most bizarre lay figure. Each section is articulated and tightened with plexiglass fasteners so that the figure can be placed in a multitude of poses, giving all the charm of a full sized antique lay figure in wood for a fraction of the price. Figures like these were (and still are) used by artists as an alternative or in addition to real life models when painting. Today they have charm and character and are a fun addition to any room, or shop display, or even just to give scale in photography studios.
