Antique early 20th Century Chinese export solid silver tea kettle on stand, the body chased in relief with floral decoration, the domed lids mounted with a bamboo finial. The kettle is suspended on a stylised, well constructed bamboo stand, with a removable functioning burner. One side a circular cartouche inscribed 'PRESENTED TO MR. & MRS. A. H. SKELTON BY THE STAFF OF L. C. & CO. HONG KONG 22ND MAY 1906'. The kettle is large, heavy and very well crafted, by one of the most outstanding Chinese silversmiths & retailers. Hallmarked with Chinese character marks and retailers mark SS for Sun Shing.
