The base is Hallmarked Chinese silver 90 (900+ standard), Mark "WH" for Wang Hing & Company, this kind of quality of enamel can only be by Qiu Ji (active in Hong Kong, 1880-1915). Qiu Ji was an important master silversmith of extraordinary skill running his own workshop who appears on items of Wang Hing silver fairly often.

Wang Hing company was probably responsible for producing more Chinese Export Silver than any other Chinese retail silversmith. The company was also one of the first to establish a large retail emporium that grew to sell a wide variety of luxury goods to clients from all over the world. For more information please see A.
