DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century rare Chinese solid silver cigarette case, cushion shaped, decorated in repousse' high relief, on very finely tooled matted ground, depicting dragons amongst clouds. The case is of heavy gauge and very well crafted.
Unmarked (tested 900+ standard), this case is remarkably similar to the work created by the silversmith H.P.K, undocumented Chinese silversmith active in Shanghai, 1890-1915. For more information please see A.Von Ferscht, Chinese Export Silver 1785-1940, 4th edition 2015.
