DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century rare Chinese Export Solid Silver large box, of rectangular form, decorated in repousse' relief with various figures in a landscape, including fighting warriors, dignitaries, attendants amongst palaces and pavillions and a military procession along the sides.
The box is particularly large, heavy gauge and very well crafted.
Hallmarked Chinese Export silver underneath (acid tested shows 900+ standard), Maker's mark for Da Xing, important silversmith active both in Canton and Singapore in the late 19th century. Da Xing is renowned for its very fine craftmanship and produced silver pieces for the welthiest and most prominent Peranakan families in Malacca.
CONDITION
In Great Condition - No damage, just general wear.
