Antique 20th Century English Art Deco solid silver monumental trophy cup and cover, shaped as a cocktail glass, the lid, stem and base decorated with stylised laurel leaves, sides applied with beautifully modelled twin cast Pegasus handles, the lid decorated with masks and mounted with a cast racing horse finial.

Engraved 'H.M The King's Cup, Alexandria, 1932, Won By Baron Empain's "Gracchus". Baron Empain is a title of nobility of the Kingdom of Belgium. The title was created in 1907 by Leopold II of Belgium for Édouard Empain, a wealthy Belgian engineer, entrepreneur, financier and industrialist, as well as an amateur Egyptologist. The title is hereditary and descends to the senior male by agnatic primogeniture.
