20th Century Silver massive vase, in the style of the late 17th / early 18th Century ginger jars, rare high-shouldered vessels originally used to contain spices and after used as decorative vases.
The inverted pear-shaped body rests on a circular foot, the neck is applied with cast masks with ring handles, the cover is surmounted by a floral finial, swirl-fluted decoration all over. The neck and the body are engraved with a coat of arms and a family crest. Hallmarked English silver (958), London, year 1927 (m), Maker's mark LAC for Crichton Brothers.

Both parts are Hallmarked English silver (Britannia standard, the highest purity for English silver, 958 standard), London, year 1927 (m), Maker's mark LAC (for Crichton Brothers, one of the most preeminent silver retailers and manufacturers, often producing replicas of extraordinarily rare early pieces).
