Antique 20th Century English Art Deco solid silver cocktail shaker. This is quite simply the finest English silver cocktail shaker we have ever had the pleasure to sell. its elongated design, engine-turned body, high Art Deco stepped cover and tremendous gauge stand this example head and shoulders above the rest. It is fully hallmarked for the historic Goldsmiths & Silversmiths company who, founded in 1880, were known for their high quality jewellery and silverware and merged with another powerhouse, Garrard & Co in 1952. Throughout this period they supplied royalty and nobility with this particular example stamped with the extra Jubilee mark to celebrate 25 years of the reign of King George V. The shaker itself is exceptional all round, from the detached 'mushroom' sealing stopper within the cover, to the way he light catches off the finely engine-turn engraved body.
