The cover in the same style terminates with a large wrythen finial. The front is engraved with a memorial inscription dated 1906.

Antique 20th Century Edwardian Rococo Style Solid Silver ornamental cup and cover, exceptionally large and decorative, heavy gauge, the body embossed with scrolls, leaves and flowers, cast twin leaf-capped double-scroll handles. The cover in the same style terminates with a large wrythen finial. The front is engraved with a memorial inscription dated 1906.
Such large vases were the most fashionable interior design accessory of the mid-late 18th Century; the silver cup and cover in form of vase was at the top end of the market for such items. This is a Edwardian copy of the rare Rococo piece, and due to the particularly large size it can be used as a wine or champagne cooler. Each part is fully Hallmarked English silver (925 Standard), London, year 1902 (g), Maker's mark W&S (West & Son).
