DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century Victorian exceptional four piece tea and coffee set, comprising of a coffee pot, teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug, each piece beautifully chased with very distinctive stylized scrolls and flowers, each piece standing on shaped domed foot, lids are surmounted by a cast finial beautifully modelled as a flower bulb.

Side engraved with crowned initials. All parts are Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), London, year 1866 (l), Maker IH&RR (John Hunt & Robert Roskell), silversmiths and jewellers to Queen Victoria and other European Royal families. The company was founded by Paul Storr in 1819, later Storr & Mortimer (1822-38), Mortimer & Hunt (John Samuel Hunt, 1838-43) and finally Hunt & Roskell (1843-97)
