The bases engraved with coat of arms and crest (for the Dunn or Dunne family, motto "Vigilans et Audax") and covers with initials (probably "MSL"). Hallmarked English silver (925), London, year 1855 (u), Maker's mark ISH for John Samuel Hunt.

Each piece is Hallmarked English silver (925 Standard), London, year 1855 (u), Maker's mark ISH (John Samuel Hunt, senior partner in Hunt & Roskell, successors of the Paul Storr firm, the most important English Royal silversmiths of all time), the bases further stamped "HUNT & ROSKELL LATE STORR & MORTIMER 7878".
